School is a few short weeks away. In the midst of the free-tax weekends and getting routines set early, you still have time to make a few more summer vacation memories.
We live in the perfect location for outdoor experiences for all ages. So, consider an overnight or weekend get-away to a local campsite. A few nearby favorites:
Raccoon Mountain: This popular destination spot has a variety of lodging/camping options, plus entertainment appeal with gem panning, go-carts and caves to explore.
Lookout Mountain Chattanooga West KOA Holiday: The campsite has an outdoor pool and is located near the Wilderness Outdoor Theater – meaning you can stay for the late night drive-in double feature and not have to drive home sleepy!
Williams Island: If you really want to go wild and unplug, The Tennessee River Gorge Trust allows primitive camping on the island. The campsites are free, but you must complete an application at least one business day in advance. It’s accessible by boat only, so your adventure can start on the water!
